I’m especially happy with how the metal steering part of the bike turned out. So while their nests may look flimsy and lazy, they apparently still do their job in keeping the egg safe most of the time.\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003eThis embroidery piece is based on a real pigeon nest! I had plenty of hilariously bad ones to choose from while scrolling through Pinterest and Google, but this one stood out to me as both funny and endearing. Something about the way the pigeon is all fluffed up, with its neck pulled in, made it extra cute to me.\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003ePigeons often get a bad reputation for being dirty or even considered pests. But next time you see one and feel a bit annoyed, remember: we’re the ones who brought them here. Only years later did I realise they were all innocent women. Calling them “witches” diminished the impact of the femicide that was happening, and it’s still used today as a way to trivialize violence and aggression against women.\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003eAnd on a less serious note: being called a “wizard” (a male witch) is considered a compliment, a wise, all-knowing master of their craft. But near the end, it still felt a tiny bit dull, so I decided to spruce it up and make it feel more modern.
