I’m Sophie, the owner of Sieraat. As long as I can remember, I was fascinated by gemstones and making jewellery. Starting with beads and wire eventually led me to learn the finer techniques of silversmithing.

From my very first market, I knew I had made the right desision by starting my business. Talking about my jewellery, the creative process, and designing a piece together that truly suits you, gives me so much energy and fulfilment. I want to see you. I want to hear you. And I hope that when you wear your Sieraat, you can feel how much love and care has gone into making it. It is special, just like you. That is the foundation of Sieraat.

And yes, it is Sieraat with a t — and that is no coincidence. I have dyslexia, and I have always spelled it this way. I'm honnoring this now.

My Creative Process

"Silver is my go to material. It's beautiful, nice to work with and build to last for generations.

My workproces depens on my mood and is mostly inspired by nature. Sometimes I have a clear plan before I start making jewellery. Sometimes I just sit at my bench and experiment with diffent techniques. I bend the wire, I solder and I love to use my hamer in diffent ways to create beatiful and unique textures.

In live we are so used to always thinking about our next step, that sometimes I just go with the flow and let the material deside what it wants to be. Thats when I feel most free in my work. There is no pressure for it to be perfect. Sometimes its comes out horrendous and sometimes it turns out better than I could have imagined. Thats what I like about creating. Creating is real."
