I’m Sophie, the owner of Sieraat. As long as I can remember, I was fascinated by gemstones and making jewellery. Starting with beads and wire eventually led me to learn the finer techniques of silversmithing.

From my very first market, I knew I had made the right decision by starting my business. Talking about my jewellery, the creative process, and designing a piece of jewellery together that truly suits you, gives me so much energy and fulfilment. I want to see you. I want to hear you. And I hope that when you wear your Sieraat, you can feel how much love and care has gone into making it. It is special, just like you. That is the foundation of Sieraat.

And yes, it is Sieraat with a t — and that is no coincidence. I have dyslexia, and I have always spelled it this way. I'm honoring this now.

My Creative Process

"Silver is my go to material. It's beautiful, nice to work with and built to last for generations.

My work proces depends on how I feel and is mostly inspired by nature. Sometimes I have a clear plan before I start making jewellery. Sometimes I just sit at my bench and experiment with different techniques. I bend the wire, I solder and I love to use my hammer in diffent ways to create beautiful and unique textures. There is no pressure for it to be perfect. That's what I like about creating. Creating is real."
