My name is Emma, an Italian artist and illustrator now based in Amsterdam. I find my inspiration in the natural and botanical world: Observing plants I realised it’s quite common to find something familiar in the shapes provided by nature. So, with a bit of fantasy, I repurpose them with a surreal twist, creating my little world of colorful, botanical creatures and supernatural plants.

My Creative Process

"My creative process starts observing plants in real life to find familiar shapes and inspiration, this can be immediate or require more time to visualize the transformation
I prefer to hand-draw my illustrations starting from the sketch, passing to the lineart and colouring of the final artwork. I mainly use ink, acrylics, markers and pencils, but I like to experiment and to find the right material for the specific thing I’m creating.
