Studio Lena Poyard

I'm Lena, a weaver and textile designer based in Rotterdam. Each piece is woven by hand in my studio. Drawn to color, texture, and the stories materials carry, I create handwoven textiles from reclaimed fabrics and climbing ropes. Weaving allows me to slow down, experiment, and transform everyday materials into tactile pieces that celebrate craft, sustainability, and thoughtful making.

My Creative Process

"Each project starts with drawings, color exploration, and choosing reclaimed materials. After preparing the warp on my loom, I weave each piece by hand, a slow, almost meditative process that can take from a few days to several weeks. Once the weaving is cut from the loom, I carefully finish it by knotting and securing every thread by hand."
