I am Karen, founder of VlechtwerkDelft. In my studio, I create screen prints using ceramic glaze, which I apply to second-hand tableware and tiles. My designs complement the shape of the product or its existing decoration. In addition to creating my own designs, I enjoy collaborating with clients to create a unique design for them. This turns every product into a small work of art.

My Creative Process

"My hand screenprinted glaze designs are inspired by products sourced from a thrift store, creating a new reality. I first remove part of the original decoration by blast-cleaning the items with glass beads under high pressure. By firing the piece in a kiln, the various glaze layers fuse together. "
