Women from three generations were involved in making this calendar: my grandma, whose passion for collecting and inventing recipes made her a local hero; my mom, who carefully preserved those recipes; and me, an illustrator abroad, reviving memories through food. Like my grandmother, who was an immigrant herself, I have adapted her eclectic cuisine to reflect my new home in the Netherlands. Each recipe appears in the month when its main ingredient is in season, in the hope that these dishes bring you comfort and inspire you to cook seasonally.
