Beautiful, sturdy turquoise Raku-fired pot.
The art of raku firing dates back centuries. Ceramic pieces are fired rapidly and then removed from the kiln while still glowing hot. They are placed into a container filled with sawdust, where the smoke and rapid changes in temperature create the characteristic crackles in the glaze and the striking contast between light and dark.
Since these pieces are fired to around 1000 degrees celsius and cooled so quickly, they aren't water tight. Nevertheless with a branch or just on its own, they form a wonderfull addition to every home.

Dimensions: 20 x 12,5
